The view is terrific and the fishing great from the road, and if you don't get caught the bridge fishing is fun and productive. People on South Andros don't eat shark, but every other kind of fish is caught, consumed, and sent to market. They don't eat shark because it will eat man.
When the crabs are running at night in the fall, the people are on the roads with a toe sack and a flash light to catch them and send to Nassau. It is a great supplemental income for the work.
The divers go out and bring up the big conch. Last October my neighbor fixed and sent to me some of the best conch fritters I have ever eaten.
Wouldn't you like just to take a trip and relax with an ocean breeze, friendly people, and great views? The swimming is out of this world too.

Hello Winnie,
You have out-done yourself! What a beautiful blog, well composed, and outstanding pictures. I wish I had the time to go fishing or just to relax. Wish Buddy a happy birthday for me. I bet at his age he keeps you and your husband hopping. I teach small children and at times they can be a handful.

Your photo of the Bahamas is beautiful and makes me want to go back and visit. I have been to the Bahamas several times and enjoyed myself each and every time. I know that I have visited Nassau and a few other islands, but I am not sure if Andros is a place that I have visited. I was younger when I had the opportunity to visit, so I was not too interested in the name of the place I was going to, I was just happy to being going. I remember climbing on a jet ski and cruising the waters and having a great time. The atmosphere was electric and I remember people just having a great time. The food was unique but tasteful and there was always a melodic environment that made me feel relaxed. There was something about the Bahamas that made me not worry about anything and just have a great time. The beaches that I visited were clean and vibrant and everyone that was there seemed extra nice and friendly. I swam in the crystal clear water for hours and the weather was perfect each day that I was there. I do not recall any day that included inclement weather and the vacations seemed longer than they actually were. I am eager to go back to have another stellar vacation and experience the conch fritters that you have mentioned.
